While I was really happy with the friendly people from Janklow & Nesbit, and learnt a lot from the entire day, I really must voice my disappointment at the fact that Mumsnet misled everyone into believing that we would get a 10 minute gap to pitch to the agents.
Apparently, Janklow & Nesbit warned Mumsnet before-hand that there wouldn't be enough agents to do this. I can only speak from my personal experience, but I am extremely disappointed with Mumsnet Academy. I had prepared my pitch, I had my print-outs, my folders, and for me it was one of the main reasons to go to said event.
Please Mumsnet, be clearer next time you publicise a similar event, because we paid for the chance to pitch and that wasn't provided. This is not honest advertising. Kudos to the lovely agent from J&N who spent every break making sure we all got to speak to her for at least a couple of minutes.
