Short stories written - where next?

I have written some adult short stories. I'm interested in trying to get them published.

Is there any guidance available as to length of story, what should/shouldnt be written about etc.

Apologies as I guess this has been asked 1000 before!

You could look at this website Shortbread

Watch out for copyright issues though.

Some magazines take short stories. Look out for competitions - your library may have posters up about local competitions.

Actually, when you said adult do you mean 'adult'?!

There's a database here www.duotrope.com bit clunky but you can do searches on publications that might take your work. When you find the listing on the site, there's usually a link to that publication's own website, which you should then go onto and check their submission guidelines.

AFAIK it includes markets for erotica, so should help you whichever type of "adult" you meant Wink.

When I say adult I do mean erotica not aga sagas!
