how long should a synopsis be?

Any advice on writing a synopsis for a young adult fantasy story greatly appreciated!

Mine usually pan out to about a page and a half long. Sometimes two. It depends on the line spacing.

One of them was just three-quarters of a page. As long as you can show the thrust of your story, the challenges faced by the characters, turning points, etc and prove that the story arc 'works', that's fine.

I can't see there's much benefit in having a really long synopsis.
