www.write-a-childrens-book.com/children/

I have to admit to being a bit of a procrastinator and thought this may help me actually do something with my children's book.

The daft thing is I have very nearly finished it. I just can't seem to make the final leap and send it Grin

That's OK Smile I use books, they have helped me a great deal.

And actually, I have done a course where the online "lectures" were largely a rehash of one of the writing craft books, even down to the examples- that is shameless shit Grin

Thanks BrideofFrankenstein wow that is terrible.
I have been doing the Writers Bureau one but wish I had chosen one for writing for children, so I have done what Belle advised and ordered lots of books, just waiting patiently for them to come.

Goodness Frankenstein! Did you report them to the publishers of the craft books? It's a breach of copyright.

Read lots alfie! Wink

No- I actually didn't realise as it was about 18 months later that I read the writing book and thought it was all a bit familiar, looked back at the lecture notes from the course and thought "aha"

I should clarify that it was a rehash, not a direct copy. Also, not sure it was breach, because the examples were from famous books like using "Catcher in the Rye" as an example of the unreliable narrator, which, you could argue, is an oft cited example.

However, there were a lot of those coincidences.

There's a site called WriterBeware which looks for scams. There tends to be more US based 'publishers' on there but it's a very useful site. I always check publishers and agents out on there.
