This poor girl, I can't get he family out of my head.

I just saw comments under a post about her death on FB. People arguing about the cause of death

Some saying her horse crushed her, some saying it was suicide. Does anyone know what happened the poor girl?

It's concerning that in 2026 there isnt openness if it was suicide. Similarly if it was a tragic accident why are so many saying it's suicide?

You are expecting her family and friends to come out discussing the manner of her death? Why or even how do you expect them to do that if it isnt what they are choosing in the moment, some families do in the case of suicides, posting links to helplines or talking about the people or organisations they blame for the situation, but that's not for everyone.
Have you no compassion for the sheer shock it is to have this beautiful successful girl celebrate her 16th birthday, a few days later be winning in Ballinasloe horse show and then be gone forever? If she did take her own life her family may not have even known she was struggling so that's a layer of emotion too, or they may have known and been desperately trying to get her help, do you know how hard that is here?! I can give personal example of a 17 yr old with OCD traits and anxiety being literally tortured by their own mind and talking about 'needing it to stop', ' needing their brain to be quiet for some peace' ' feeling like they are standing on a cliff edge in their brain every morning and waiting for the smallest thing to send my mind into catastrophic mode'....8 months to be seen by CAMHS and told its 'mild' anxiety and OCD so we can't help you, here's a some counselling organisation you can talk to', currently on a waiting list since May for that service
I just dont understand you think families should have to make the circumstances of their childs death public, they know, the local community knows, the wider horse community that loved her know, why do we need to know. You seem to assume its shame or a dirty secret if it were her choice but it can just be grief and privacy

I have huge compassion. I have sadly been affected by suicide on two occasions of immediate circle.
Its because I have so much compassion that I am asking the question. I am a rider myself also and am acutely aware of the dangers of horses.
What I am questioning is 2 things, first how are people in the comments both so convinced on both stories. Lots are saying that her horse fell on her which is horrific if true. Others are saying this is a story that has been put out.
I am wondering why has a fake story been put out if it was suicide. I have fundraised for many years for suicide charities/depression. I thought we knew better than to do that.

I dont think is unreasonable for people to wonder what happened a beautiful 16 year old with such a bright future ahead of her. Usually, in such cases they would put a personal tragedy or following a tragic accident. If the horse fell on her do they not want that known?

It's heartbreaking no matter what the circumstance.

Whichever is the untrue story I dont think its anyone purposely putting out a fake story to hide the truth, I think its people gossiping and jumping to conclusions and taking unverified bullshit as fact. Happens all the time, if a teenager takes their own life automatically people that didnt even know them start on about bullying which may have played no part in it, because she she was so involved in horses, somr people assume it was a related accident, I'm only surprised the anti vaxxers haven't arrived in droves in the comments to blame the Covid jab as they did with Red Og Murphy and so many others

I hope its not been put out as a fake story. If it is true that it was horse related its horrifying too when she was such a horse lover.
There are so many people dying suddenly too that isn't suicide. Its so worrying.
No words can measure the pain her family are experiencing right now. If it was suicide, I know from experience how many emotions that brings up. May she rest in peace

I don't know anything about the girl but if someone dies by suicide I don't think it's fair to say there should be openness about it. People are allowed feel how they feel and if that is shame then that's their call. If a family would rather never say the word that's ok too. There's no right or wrong way to cope.
