Ordering from UK websites

If you are living in Ireland and ordering from UK websites what service do you use to minimise costs ?

Haven’t found any personally that works! A trip to newry for in store collection is all I can muster for some stores!

I did a Boden order last week. Despite ordering in € from the .eu website the order has been dispatched from the UK. We'll see how much extra I have to pay, I think it's €3 per item (4 items) pluse €6.95 fee to An Post. Very annoying

It’s a total pain in the proverbial.
I do try and buy local as much as possible but there are a few UK websites I like.
Sadly I don’t have relatives in the UK I could ask to bring stuff over.
There is kind of Oohpod near the border. Has anyone used it ?

When I lived in Ireland, I used to use Postal Pickup in Derry. Hassle free. Highly recommend. I used to collect in person but if you’re further away they might be able to deliver it to you. The rates were good.

I am miles from Derry, in the Dublin area.

I'm in the UK but I am interested as several relatives have been stung by this recently, where a 10 euro purchase ended up more than double that - unexpectedly for them as well!

So I am just here for ideas (one does live quite close to the NI border).

Just to update, my Boden parcel arrived with no extra charges, yay!
However, sending one of the items back is going to cost €7.60.

So far I've noticed all the websites have it included.

@deeahgwitch I've used oohh pods in Cavan for sending Vinted things before. They are the exact same as the old parcel motel. There are a few right on the border. You'd want to be passing or getting a lot for it to be worth your while though.

DH has been ordering loads of stuff and they seem to get around the €3 charge by delivering to their warehouse in Dublin then posting out from there.

They seem to be linked to Sports Direct but if you look at the same item on the Sports Direct website, it’s usually more expensive on there. No idea why? 😳

It’s a joke! Did you hear the woman on live line today. Ordered something of Etsy at 49 Euro by the time she went though to paying with postage and fees it was 89 Euro. She started the process again and ordered the same thing to be sent to her daughter in the Uk and it was 49 Euro with free postage🙈

I think you all need to just find a Northern friend! I am in the North and I know a few people through work and friends who will be using my address and not one care will I give as this is just another robbing session by the government.
