I love an ould heatwave in Ireland - bit of a novelty isn't it. One caveat : I always dread the stories of young people drowning . Lads who don't often swim going into water they're not familiar with. Sometimes quite unsuitable spots in rivers , lakes or quarries. On a beach I always ask the locals about rip tides or sudden changes in depth. Mind you I was guilty of it when I was a teenager - mea culpa.
