Dublin with a teen

Hiya. My daughter and I will be in Dublin (from Edinburgh) for a week over the summer for a competition. She will be busy with that much of the time, but we have a couple days free in her schedule and I'm looking for recommendations of where to head.

She loves poking around charity shops or secondhand / quirky stores. She's not trendy at all so googling 'shopping in Dublin' isn't getting me where I want. Is there a neighbourhood (or more) with little quirky shops, independent bookstores, secondhand/vintage ideally (she's a massive environmentalist), good ice cream, sort of thing? If anyone knows Edinburgh I'm thinking of Morningside or Stockbridge. We are staying in Dublin a few days after the comp to do some more touristy stuff with my husband and son (and some extended family) so it's just to get some breaks from the comp chaos.

Any fun food places very welcome too but we aren't really foodies - very happy with a meal deal and some fancy ice cream for after.

Long time since I lived in Dublin but 20 yrs ago that would have been Rathmines and the George Street Arcade, off Grafton Street. Hopefully someone with more up to date info will be along soon!
