Is anyone watching this?
I caught up with the first episode at the weekend.
The young country couple seemed lovely, very well suited. They were very sweet.
The older couple seemed well-matched also, neither looking for a fairytale or to drastically change their lives at this stage, but seeking companionship and fun. I really hope they stay together.
The doctor was too full-on for me, but his date seemed enamoured with him, so best of luck to them, they seem to have gone on lots more dates and I hope it’s going well. He raised a few red flags for me with talk of children and inviting her as his plus one to weddings months away, when they were just on a first date, but perhaps I’m just cynical.
And the other couple- what can I say?! Lisa was a parade of red flags, with the room key in the flowers before she’d ever set eyes on her date, the “I have a driver organised” ehh, what?? I imagine most people going on a first date have their own plans about how they’ll get home and I certainly wouldn’t be accepting a “driver” from a stranger who seemed to have no boundaries and who I didn’t want to see again… why would I want them knowing my address for starters, and imo it seemed quite controlling. Also I didn’t like the way she interrupted another couple on their date and got them to swap chairs, they were clearly too polite to tell her to get lost. And kissing Boo’s hand just gave me the ick. I’m not surrounded Boo turned down a second date.
