Summer language exchange teens

Hello, I'm looking for a programme which allows my 16 year old to spend a few weeks with a family in France next summer - either one way or as part of an exchange.

Does anyone have experiences with organisations they would / wouldn't recommend for this?

Do they still happen, the safeguarding awareness is very different these days. A language school may be the answer, some run home stays but use people year round so can train/check people better.
