Anyone have DC at Queens University Belfast?

Just wondered if anyone has any experiences or advice they can share re: QUB? DS is thinking about applying for Computer Science. We live in England and have been over for the open day.

DS has concerns around possible low contact hours and is unsure how engaged the tutors are with undergraduates. He's emailed Queens with some questions, but their responses have been vague or not very helpful.

TIA.

I do, but not for computer science so I can’t really answer any of your specific concerns there. But DS is really enjoying his time in Belfast. The accommodation is cheap and available, flights across the Irish Sea are not that expensive, they give you a scholarship if you go over from GB which helps with first year accommodation costs.

DD is there too. She loves it, she has higher than expected contact hours in her Arts subject. From memory the course advertised 6 hours of lectures, but with seminars and workshops it's much higher.

FYI the computer science degree at University of Ulster is also highly regarded. One of my nephew’s took this degree and now has an excellent job in an international software dev company.

My other programming-loving English nephew is considering going to one of the Belfast unis, much to his Irish Gran’s delight.
