I've no experience of the young scientist exhibition other than seeing the winners on TV and in the media. My daughter's project has been accepted which is great. I don't really have any concerns re her project etc - that's for her to work on and we can support as required.

My question is re logistics for us as a family if we want to visit the exhibition as we don't live anywhere near Dublin. I see we can get tickets for the morning or afternoon session on the Saturday. Realistically we'd only make the afternoon session if we are doing it in a day trip - is it winding down at that stage? Should we make an effort to stay up the night before and go to the morning session - or try to make it on the Friday? Is it interesting for primary school kids? Do the tickets sell out quickly (ie do I need the make the decision soon)

Any other tips for complete newbies to this? I don't know anyone else whose kids have participated in it.
