London hotel recommendation please

We're going to London at the end of September for 2 nights with my husband and 2 kids (one an adult.) We'll be flying to Gatwick and will be going to the Harry Potter experience. Any recommendations for a hotel? We'll need 2 rooms for the 4 of us so would prefer something not too spendy (Premier Inn type budget) but that's in a good area for touristing. I don't know London at all so have no idea where to look. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the Warner bros studio tour?

I've just stayed two nights at the Travelodge in Covent Garden. I couldn't fault it, walking distance to lots of places, right by tube station.

Hotel was clean and staff were great. Covent Garden was so lovely with loads of gorgeous restaurants and pubs. Two nights cost me £264 for a twin room, which I thought was a bargain!

Yes, that's the one.

It’s actually in Watford not London so if you’re just coming for the tour and don’t want a commute back in to London with tired kids each evening then I’d look more locally.
st Albans ,Watford or there is a premier inn in Rickmansworth that is only a 15 minute drive ( if the m25 is being kind )

Yes, that's the one.

So the studios are actually a good hour drive from Gatwick (with no traffic) so I wouldn’t look for hotels in London but around the area which is Watford. So I would consider that.

When we did the studio tour (& not a trip into London city) we stayed in a hotel in Watford. I can't remember the name now, but it was a Premier Inn type. The Harry Potter "Knight Bus" went from the Watford Junction Station straight to the studios and was free. Was perfect for us! Brought us back too. Enjoy!

*I think it might have been a Travel Lodge - was perfect for the 2 nights we were there.

We stayed premier inn Tower bank.
Great location 2 min walk to Monument tube station, 10 min walk to Tower of London
Really quiet hotel, we had 2 rooms next to each other

Clermont Victoria, right beside Victoria station. I think HP bus collects from literally outside yhe door!
