What was this late 90s teatime quiz??

There was a funny quiz on at around 6 30 back in the late 90s. The presenter wasn't anyone you'd know and the format was that a question would be asked and a timer would start. You'd have 4 options and a voice over would say 'It's not Paris. It's Not Dublin. It's not... and someone would buzz in lol. The quicker you buzzed the higher you'd score! Anyone remember this?? I regularly take it off when asked something but can't remember the name.

100%?

topcat2014 · 31/08/2025 17:45

Tom O'connor?

mikado1 · 31/08/2025 17:56

I've just googled both of those but neither comes up under quiz show. I think the presenter was maybe 40s and looked a bit like David McWilliams but could be totally wrong on that.

Thank you but definitely not EH. It was on Irish TV and was an Irish programme.

IHaveRunOutOfIdeas · 31/08/2025 18:44

Oh so very sorry, didn’t realise I was in Craicnet! That list I provided is utterly useless! 😂

100%?

I was on 100%. Still have the runners up mug. 😂

mikado1 · 31/08/2025 19:12

100% is not coming up as a quiz on Google but if doesn't sound familiar. It's not the answer sounds likely and the same format but it was an rte show, however may have been a franchise.. not coming either as Irish version.

Peter Dickson was Irish I think?

Another it’s not the answer with Bryan Smyth. Wiki said it ran for 4 years on RTE

Is it Where in the World?

mikado1 · 31/08/2025 19:22

Oh I'd never forget Marty and Theresa!! No, not WITW, tho Google wants it to be. That was a straightforward question answer answer format I think.

Hurray. This must be it. Four years wow. That name sounds familiar. I will Google him now and see if my memory of David McWilliams lookalike was anyway accurate.

Yes he is as I remembered him! Thank you.

Bring back It's not the Answer! And where in the World for some Sunday night feels. And throw in some Blackboard Jungle.

Who remembers Murphy's Micro Quiz-M. The graphics were very advanced for the time.

Loved it. Can still see them on their chairs! A good quiz before Glenroe!
