Help please.
I plan my tv viewing for the week and record and then watch my chosen programmes. I can also skip the ads.
I have to get a new package as my Virgin media box is very old.
Is there any system available in Ireland where I can still record ?
I know Virgin don’t have a system where I can record as before.
Sky Glass isn’t suitable either.
It seems to be all streaming.
But if I go away for a fortnight and am following a 6 episode series I can’t set the tv to record so I miss the start or the middle or the end of the series.
It’s ridiculous.
And this is progress 🙄

Any suggestions please ?

@ Deeahgwitch - I was in the same position as you last year. I had a very old Tivo box with Virgin Media and as they didn’t give a discount when my contract ended, I felt it wasn’t worth the new price. I also plan my TV viewing for the week, record and watch when I have time.

I switched to Sky Q as I didn’t want a streaming package and I need to record due to my working hours. I choose the TV package that suited me and can record on all the channels I’m subscribed to.

The interface is similar to Netflix and shows an image of the programme. Their online TV guide has a section that shows all the new series that have started, which is handy. If you miss a program, series or want to catch up on anything - when you find the program there is an 'available now' section. You can then download these to your Sky box and watch at your leisure. You can also set a series link or record individual programmes.

Gosh, I didn’t know I player wasn’t available in Ireland! Hope this helps.

Thanks @Inneedofchocolatenow - Sky try to push Sky Glass which is streaming (via their own TVs from what I understand) so it looks like Sky Q would work for what I need.
