Storage for cans and bottles - recycle scheme

Hi everyone,

I’m struggling a bit to figure out how to store our used plastic bottles and cans at home until we bring them down to the shop for return. I have a bin with insert that we usually just lift out and bring them all in, rinse out and pop back in but they’re all starting to pile up a bit.
What do other people do?

I just rinse them, pop them into one of the shopping bags and bring them with me when I'm going to the supermarket. To me, it's a hateful job so I'd hate to let them build up.

I hate it too! Will keep trying!

Drives me mad but I have a plastic stand up recycle bag from mister price here and when it is full in the car to bring to the shop. It is the biggest pain in the hole seriously.

I have a storage box in the garden for cans, bottles, glass

I've a shopping bag hanging on the back of the utility room door. I bring them to the supermarket weekly. I don't let them build up for any longer than a week.

Saw someone with a Pop up bin thing that has a lid, think it was from Temu. Keep meaning to get one as the plastic bag on back of door irritates me.

I'm ashamed to say ours just sit on the kitchen counter until someone thinks to bring them back.
The DC will do it if they need some money and think it's worth their effort (rarely 🙄)
There's way too many congregating before they're brought back here though 😣

It really annoys me. A whole new quango to finance.

I always recycled my cans and bottles anyway.
