Can anyone recommend somewhere that I could bring a 15 year old for a sort of tutorial/ tips/ make up session? With a view to buying her a few basics? I don't wear make up so I'm useless. We're half way between Galway and Athlone, with in easy reach. I know it's a thing chemists/ BT used to do....do they still? Would we need to make sn appointment??

The make up counters in Arnotts and BTs still do it I'm sure. Is there one that may be better for younger skin? Maybe a local beautician does it either?

As a treat could you do a trip to Brown Thomas in Dundrum and have pre booked a Charlotte Tilbury or Mac make up session ?

The big Boots store in Liffey Valley might also be an option.

I saw an article on some one ( can't remember who 🙈 ) and her make up, which looked great, was done by a makeup artist called Kirstie Murphy and I thought if ever I needed a make over for a special occasion I'll contact her.
I don't know her or the sky over her as the saying goes but was impressed with her work in the article.

Thanks for the replies! I literally had no idea where to start and I don't want to go dragging all over the countryside on a wild Goose chase. Boots in liffey valley might be a good shout, I'm not planning on buying her the expensive stuff, somewhere between Mac and Penneys own brand. Will look into BT also as that'd be handier in Galway. Thanks again 😊

Sculpted by Aimee might be a good brand to try, they have a counter in Boots Liffey Valley and in Arnotts and a shop on Grafton st.

The products are good, nice shades, made in Korea I believe and the prices a very reasonable.

Thanks so much for the replies! We ended up at the No7 counter in liffey valley, only reason was that was the only option on the website to book that I had ever heard of!! The lady could not have been nicer, kept telling Dd she didn't need much, how lovely her skin was etc. I was trying to stand back a bit but didn't want her coming out with spider lashes, covered in bronzer! Anyway, she did a lovely neutral look, gave dd loads of tips on brushes etc, I bought the products she used (even though no pressure to do so) and the basket was just under €100. Everyone happy 😊
