Just a wee thread for anyone whose DC has received SEAG results today and wants to share.

My DC are all past that stage now but have a nephew and god-daughter who both got results today. Nephew got TSAS 200 which was a bit of a shock and relief as he was really pretty demotivated and had a very slap-dash attitude to the whole thing. Very much hoping he gets his first choice of BGS now as I know his parents fear that in Bangor Academy he would fall in with the wrong crowd and just mess the whole time. He’s capable, but a total messer and very immature and easily led. Hoping that a smaller school will work better for him. (Not a downer on Academy at all - it’s a great school - just prob not right for him)

God-daughter got TSAS 214 which will get her comfortably into her first choice school.

DSIS has posted nephew’s results out on WhatsApp to all and sundry. God-daughter’s mum has told no-one other than grandparents, siblings and us. She’s very aware of those who are disappointed today.

If anyone wants to share results - good or bad - relief or disappointment - feel free

Fingers crossed for Bangor Grammar, OP! My nephew is now in U6th and has absolutely loved his time there - it’s a great school. Seems to be very well run.

I think I agree with your goddaughter’s mum’s approach. Back in the AQE days DD did amazingly well (one of the highest scores in NI - it really wasn’t expected!!) and as much as I would’ve loved to shout it from the rooftops with pride it’s just not appropriate. There will be so many poor wee 10/11 year olds today who didn’t get the score they wanted - they’re far too young for the stress of this transfer test nonsense in my opinion.
