Eowyn - Met Eireann have given a red warning for 22 counties

School will be closed on Friday and DD is thrilled about it. Let's hope the roof stays on.

It's been a while since we've had a storm with such a widespread red warning, usually the east coast is quite protected.

I haven't seen a forecast yet for what direction the wind will be when it passes over Dublin. We are completely open to the south-west, but protected by other houses, the slope of the land and tree wind breaks on the other three sides. I remember a previous storm (either Ophelia or Desmond) there was a lot of damage in areas near us but we were blocked from the worst of it.

Looks like it's gonna be a biggie (again!) Batten down the hatches.

I think I may swerve it according to this map, but it will be close. I live in the North Midlands.
