How’s it looking where you are?

I’m in the midlands and we have an orange warning for snow and ice. Looks like the snow is due to start around 5pm and carry on for 24 hours. It’s very frosty here since Friday morning- ice in sheltered parts of the garden didn’t shift at all yesterday.

Went to Dunnes on Thursday for my usual shop and most shelves were bare- couldn’t get milk or the vegetables I wanted. Not sure if it’s just post-Christmas stock issues, or people stocking-up.

Anyway, hope everyone can keep safe and warm.

South east here, yellow warning surrounded by all orange. Have prepared as much as possible as we live rurally and are far from shops. The roads can be lethal as there's hills everywhere so not looking forward to the early starts next week if school/colleges open. We've also had the frost/ice that hasn't melted since Friday.
Went for a small shop earlier and it was much busier than usual at that time. People definitely stocking up. Hopefully it won't be as bad as predicted 🙏🏻 🤞🏻

Still clear here in North County Dublin. Was frosty this morning, but not enough to cancel the park run unfortunately 😆
It feels like it's "warming up", all the way to 3°!
Rain is forecast here, no snow - kinda jealous of you guys 🌨☃️

Disappointing turnout here too. Just light drizzle so far.

I was wondering if anyone had started a thread yet. I'm in Leinster and it's been bitterly cold all day. Last night's frost never really thawed. No sign of snow yet, although my phone is warning me that significant snowfall is expected tomorrow morning.

Just checked my phone and it says the temperature has risen to 1 degree with light rain falling. But that rain could turn to snow later.

The local shop had a sign up last night to say that they were out of milk but expecting another delivery today. So I think people are buying a bit extra, just in case.

Gan sneachta i gCorcaigh....so far. Didn't stop Supervalu running out of bread here though. Like a swarm of locusts had been through it 😂

Dublin South Central. Nothing yet, other than a frosty morning and some cold drizzle.
Did the shopping in Dunnes earlier and it was as rammed as Christmas- very little meat or fresh vegetables left.

Nothin in the northern counties. Feels too mild for snow really.

The UK Met Office completely screwed up for New Years Day, issued an amber warning for snow for NI then cancelled it. We got wind instead 😕. I think they've messed up again tbh.

I'm in south Dublin and it is sharp cold and damp but that is all so far. Junior parkrun is cancelled for tomorrow due to the forecast.

It's miserably wet here today, not a flake in sight ☹️

Staggered to Supervalu today with a walking stick. I bought it years ago when I put my back out. Forgot I had it ....but it was brilliant. I'm surprised schools are open tomorrow tbh. Not everyone has an Izuzu Trooper 🚛 ha.
