I've just read this report of the guilty verdicts today. Wtf is wrong with this family? The other brother was bad enough, but this is psychotic. And the victim's family are being shunned locally because the perpetrators' family are big in the GAA - I just don't have words for how fucked up that is.

‘They beat me like they wanted me dead’: Hayes brothers to be sentenced for savage attack on former friend

Daragh (37) and Cian Hayes (33), of Ballyashea, Kildimo, siblings of All-Ireland hurling winner Kyle, appeared before Limerick Circuit Criminal Court

They're a scum family.

They're absolute thugs. And how awful for the victim that the GAA club and school principal stood for them.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 20/12/2024 22:24

Jesus that's unreal. What else have they done and gotten away with? That doesn't sound like the first time they assaulted someone.

Liv999 · 22/12/2024 12:47

The whole family seem like scumbag thugs, the fact that Kyle has been up in court so many times and is still on the County hurling team says it all

What gets me is how the victim was shunned by his locality. How dare the people of that town stand over their own scumbags when they willingly did what they did.
The local GAA and school should be so ashamed of themselves. That’s the problem with rural ireland, the GAA are a like a cult. You’re either in it, or you’re out.

I hope they get a good long hefty stint in prison.

They are surely.
I'm utterly disgusted and disappointed that the GAA and the former principal stood up for them in court.
