Hi there,

Is there anyway of getting the rsv vaccine in pregnancy privately in NI for a resident of ROI?

Hope that makes sense,
Thanks

I wouldn't know that and wasn't really aware of what the rsv vaccine really covered until recently.

Only this evening a paeds nurse was telling me that the ward nurses have noticed a significant decrease in young babies/children presenting since the rsv vaccination roll out started.

I think they give it in the hospital after the baby is born. I'm not sure though. My baby was born in August and they rolled it out for babies born after 1st Sept. But 1 lady in a group I'm on was back in hospital with her baby soon after birth and because it was after 1st Sept they offered it to her August born baby.

I tried to find out if I could pay private for it but couldn't get any info.

Sorry not much help but I wouldn't hold out much hope
