DP and I lived in Dublin in the early noughties and are desperately trying to remember the name of a Vegetarian restaurant we used to go to in Bray. It was easily accessible from the DART. I don't think it exists any more, so it seems to be impossible to Google. Can anyone remember?

Would it be The Happy Pear in Greystones? I think that was around early noughties - and still is!

It was about 30m up one of the side roads from the seafront I think - and I can't remember the name either!

Escape?

Was it Escape? I remember it too

I think it was Escape! I don't remember the name AT ALL, but I found an old review in the Irish Times from 2000 that mentioned it.

Thank you so much for the replies! I have been to the Happy Pear too, but more recently.

Oh I have fond memories of Escape!

Old style vegetarian meals, BYOB and really mixed paintings for sale all over the walls.

Actually the BYOB was probably what killed it- they must not have had a licence and it is hard to turn a profit without selling drinks.

Yes, that describes it exactly - old style vegetarian. And boyb also sounds familiar. Another mystery solved!
