Historical clerical abuse in schools

I'm shocked yet probably not surprised at the numbers of schools run by the Catholic Church where the clergy were abusing students. The article on The Journal website lists countrywide just how widespread this abuse was. 42 separate religious orders are involved.

We need journalists to uncover and shine a spotlight on these issues. I recently watched the movie "Spotlight" and I firmly believe that had the Chicago Times not run that story, abuse would still be happening. How the Roman Catholic Church thought that by moving the priests around from parish to parish that was going to stop them from abusing kids I'll never understand. It's not at all Christian to do such terrible things to children. The "Christian" Brothers are some of the most prolific according to the article. Christian my arse!!!!

My heart breaks for the people who were abused when simply going to school to try to learn.
