Does anyone know if you pay customs duty in Northern Ireland if you order from the EU (Italy in particular in this instance)

Probably will be charged ( unless its of negligible value ).

Of course RoI is part of EU so might be a different story if sent to a locker in RoI ( e.g. oohpod (RoI) or anpost & maybe others ).
You would have to pickup from RoI locker yourself
Fine if you live near the border, not so handy if you are somewhere up in the northeast

Thanks for replying @BocaChica .
I have since asking poked about on the internet and it seems I maybe don’t pay customs due to the special arrangements for NI. on goods coming from the EU.I just hoped someone in the north might have experience of it and could confirm that is how it works.

Hope that works out !

Please let us know ( incl anything special that has to be speced when ordering )
I suspect that there are all sorts of 'exemptions' applicable to EU - NI trade :)

@BocaChica . That was completely painless. It has arrived. I ended up ordering from France (I was choosing between 2 handbags). No customs or duty. It seems to arrive from France into the national GB hub and just transferred to NI parceforce and has just been delivered.

Magic 😀

You were lucky @Countmeout
I live in the Republic of Ireland.
Post Brexit I have bought clothing from UK based sites, I had tried to buy the same items in Ireland to no avail, and the extra charges were astronomical to me.
£15 leggings ended up being almost €40.
I bought a couple of dresses recently and the extra customs taxes, handling charge by An Post really added up.

I know that buying from NI to ROI we do not pay customs charges. From the UK we do so yes, special terms for NI
