Summer holidays - Ireland

A thread for Irish mammies to chat during the summer holidays about what we're doing, the weather, days out, holidays, play dates etc. You're welcome to also rant if needed!

This is my DCs second full week off. The first couple of days were tough as they kept butting heads but then they settled into it.

The weather seems like it will hold out here today so will get them outside as much as possible. They have friends over today and tomorrow so I will just be cleaning/cooking/baking.

Wonder if we are going to get beach weather at all.

I mean it's July now and we've had no proper beach weather at all. We are meant to meet friends in the playground today and it's been lashing this morning

It’s miserable here this morning. Piddling rain and it’s so windy we must be getting a bit of hurricane Beryl! More like winter than July 4th. My youngest is 11 and we live in the middle of nowhere so he’s bored already. He had someone over yesterday, can’t do that every day. I’m not a fan of the very long Irish school holidays!

It is a miserable day in Dublin. Dreadful winds and overcast. Mine are all secondary so been off 5 weeks at this point and I thnk we are all sick of each other.

It's cold here, I don't think I've worn just a T shirt yet. I don't mind it though. The rain is occasional and heavy so it can be avoided, we haven't had those awful rain all day days. Kids were at a camp last week and managed to stay outside mostly. But with long sleeves and tracksuits.

I'm off work for the Summer so enjoying a few personal projects. Sold some stuff on done deal, went to the dump, deep cleaned my room. Also went into the city for a wander around and got a beauty treatment another day. I'm painting skirting boards next week and have a few coffee dates. Lucky me. Then camps are done and I'm full time Mum mode for the next 6 weeks so determined to enjoy my break.

We're on week 2 & of course I've come down with a bad cold,sore throat & sinus infection & as a single mom to 2 boys, this weekend has been a bit shit, they went to their dad's Friday evening but he had to bring them back early as toddler was "sick", we have been out during the week for walks etc, the weather here last week wasn't great so was hard to get out, my eldest has a camp at the end of july so that will be great & theres been talks of play dates with his friend once they are back from holiday 🙂

Im feeling a bit better, thankfully that horrible sinus headache has gone but now kiddos seem to have the cold & sore throat so there's been lots of jumping on beds playing indoors but hopefully by tomorrow we might be able to get out for a walk at least, weather is crappy again today so we decided on a pyjama day 🙂
