Fabric shops in Cork

Hello, hoping for any recommendations for fabric shops in Cork, ideally in the City centre. I've been to Vibes and Scribes and it has a good enough quilting fabric section but dressmaking fabric always disappoints me.

Are there any other fabric shops in the city centre? Or near enough around it? I've tried searching but all I can find is V&S or curtain/upholstery shops.

Thank you!

It appears the one I was going to recommend is no longer there. Hickeys was there for so long on Patrick st upstairs but seems to no longer be in the city, i had a quick look online. Its called Home focus at Hickeys now and is in Mahon point retail park. I know they do fabrics on big rolls cut to size but I wouldn't know anything about the selection. Maybe call them and ask. I can't think of anywhere else.

Apparently Douglas Woollen Mills is great for fabric - their main focus isn't dressmaking fabric, but the range in general is huge and very reasonably priced. Might be worth checking out.

Fab, thanks both. We will be going to Mahon Point at some point to fulfill FIL desire for Nandos so I can have a look at Hickeys, I remember last time I went to the one on Patrick St it was mostly upholstery but I won't lose anything just looking in.

Also will no doubt end up going to Douglas so will have a look there too. I think I parked not far from there once picking DH up from the South County one night.

Thank you!

The Fabric Outlet in Douglas has started selling cotton and polycotton fabrics for €5 a metre. It’s pot luck what you might find but they had some Rose and Hubble fabrics in the last time I went.
