Debs Dress Donations

Hi, I have a few dresses that I no longer wear that would be suitable for debs dresses.

I would love to give them to someone for whom debs is just an unaffordable cost, someone under financial pressure or a teenager who really doesn't want to ask parents to cover the cost of it as they know the money isn't there for it.

Maybe I'm too cycnical but I don't really want to put them in a charity shop as so many people just buy things there to sell on anyway.

Are there any youthreach programmes or a charity that would be able to offer them to kids they know might need one, or a teenager staying in a refuge with her mum because family home was unsafe etc.

Does anyone know such organisations or have any suggestions? A friend suggested a school on the area but they weren't interested when I rang them.

We have a local family resource centre which links in with the secondary school.
They usually help families out at Christmas with food parcels etc. They might have an idea if you asked them.

I know Oxfam Ireland do wedding dresses so possibly bridesmaid's and deb's dresses too. Give them a call / email.
