Am recording it. I'll reply when I've seen it. I watched the documentary too, I have been a bit obsessed by these cases my whole life.

Is the series based on the same "Vanishing Triangle" @Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong?
I watched the documentary and thought it was excellent, but for some reason I thought this tv series was not related at all.
I'd be interested to know if it's worth a watch, I might catch up with it on RTÉ Player.

It's very very loosely based on it.

I only watched the first episode @LadyEloise1 just couldn't get into it.

It certainly wasn't based on the Detective Alan Bailey book of the same name though his name appears on the credits.
I felt the subplot re Alan Leech's character's lover was gratuitous.
It could have been better.

I saw one episode, liked it, but it closely resembled a book I was reading and I got a bit confused so will watch it again.

Being honest it left me uncomfortable, it was very well done and the clothes were so nostalgic but the stuff about the Garda not taking things seriously made me angry because that part, if nothing else, is so true.

My friend saw an attempted abduction of a colleague in mid / late 90s in the 'triangle', but when she tried to report it no-one took even her details. She saw a man's face very clearly and other specific details, I won't repeat here. The face haunted her for a time, she said she would never forget it and often wondered if she would see him again. She did eventually, on the newspaper in a shop a few years ago- the prime suspect. She bloody well saw him and no one even took note. Right in the middle of all the missing reports. I feel the real extent of the Garda fuckups at the time are still not really acknowledged.
