When will Electricity and Gas prices go down in Ireland?

Prices went up so much few years ago and even though wholesale prices down we have only seen like a tiny reduction. Will they ever go down along with food prices that are still so high that the cost of living ridiculous.

It's Ireland, I'd be shocked if they go down, maybe shortly before an election.

Thanks honeyrider you could be right when they make all their false promises to us... We should be out protesting like they do in France. Thank god that we have no water charges, could you imagine the amount they would have increased by now.

I'm sick of the huge profits made by the energy companies who can charge what they like.
Occasionally the government steps in to help us cover the costs with our money given to them in taxes.
Yet the energy companies continue to rake in big profits.
Why don't the government haul them in and change things for us the poor beleaguered consumer/taxpayers ? AngrySad
