Sorry if this isn't the right place for this but can anyone give me an idiots guide into how to apply for Irish Naturalisation for my 2 children. I've registered on the https://inisonline.jahs.ie/ website. I know my kids are eligible to be naturalised (my dad is Irish and I've already got my Irish passport). Me and kids both born in the UK. I thought the fee was €200 each child but then it mentions €175 euro here https://inisonline.jahs.ie/home/citz/65256374dc7b8c7ab4d5fd8f
Your application is not fully completed if you have not:

  • Completed all questions on the application form, or
  • Enclosed the required documentation to support your application, or
  • Paid the required fee of €175 (no assessment of your application will be undertaken).

In the section 'Applications for Naturalisation' there are 3 different boxes on the page and all say 'begin application' but which one do i click on - option 1/2/3 ??
  1. Citizenship Certificate Fee payment form
  2. E-vetting Invitation
  3. Citizenship Application

If I click on the first option (citizenship certificate fee payment form) it says 'Only complete this on-line Certificate Fee payment if you have received an approval letter from Citizenship Division.' what does this mean? Do I need an approval letter? I'm so confused.

Did you get your Irish citizenship before your kids were born? If so I think you just need to put them on the foreign births register. It’s a different application process - See here

Just adding that I see your dad was born in Ireland so it looks like it’s not essential that you had your citizenship before your children were born.
