What are your plans for the weekend?

We have missed a local parade today due to the weather but have decorated the house with DC and we're doing some green baking.

Heading to another parade tomorrow with extended family and then food and drinks after.

A neighbouring village had parade today. I meant to go and support them....but the rain was appalling. Will watch our local tractor procession. Because I think the shivering school kids deserve a round of applause. Waiting around for ages in their costumes and football strips poor things! ☘

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone Shamrock! I'm having a very quiet day here. Still on the mend after getting my appendix out, so I don't think I'd be up for watching the local parade - standing for all that length.

And the pub is out, 'cos I'm not sure I'd be able for the walk home afterwards. Plus, if the pubs are busy, I might not get a seat. But I'll be dressed in green and donning some shamrock and watching the parade with Dáithí and whoever else in RTE drew the short straw.

DD's in rotten form because she has to work and will miss out on a night out with her friends. They're going to another town for drinks, 'cos it's not cool enough here. By the time she gets home, they'll be gone. And I can't drive her over. Anyway, she's working tomorrow and it will be a late night, so probably not a good idea. So she's stuck at home with her Mam this evening.

Thinking of my Mam today and how she'd buy us our St. Patrick's Day rosettes and she and Dad would bring us into Dublin for the big parade. I'll be raising a glass to her later 💚.

Have a lovely day all ☘️

We have (some) blue sky here so fingers crossed it stays dry.

That's a lovely memory @Taytocrisps - hope you enjoy your quiet day in. DD will be glad of it tomorrow when she goes to work hangover free.

@Abhannmor

yes to the kids standing around for ages shivering. My eldest did it for a couple of years but now prefers to just watch the parade with his cousins rather than be in it. I know plenty of kids love it but it just wasn't for DS.

It's sunny in the north!!
We will be walking in the parade later with our local Gaelic team. Then back to the club for a kids disco.

Hope the rain stays away.

We're going to see family this afternoon. It'll be nice. I saw some lads walking along yesterday wearing kilts and I thought it must be the pipe band finalising their prep for today - but they were Scottish fans!

La Feile Padraig to everyone. At home today but weather lovely here in the west. Was watching manu v liverpool match with son who is mad manu fan.
Spent years going to the parade with him so not bothered now.
Annoying the news barely shows smaller places and always Dublin parade.
