Just after seeing that former Taoiseach John Bruton has passed away.

I'm just listening to the radio coverage now. I don't remember a huge amount about him tbh (although i did remember the VAT on kids shoes). Bertie on now.

I had to google him, I've no memory of him. But tbf I was very young

The 94 -97 government was pretty good I think. Perhaps we would have avoided the Property bubble if they had won reelection?

Abhannmor · 06/02/2024 12:25

They probably lost because of him though. He didn't seem to grasp the importance of the Peace Process. Always thought it was some cunning Shinner plot. Bruton was very pro British and took Brexit very badly.

On a light note, his honking laugh always made me laugh along with him. May he rest in peace now.

I couldn't stand his honking laugh.

I couldn't stand his honking laugh.

I didn't want to say I laughed AT his laugh, but you know what I mean.

Anyway, that was just one aspect of the man. I think he was head and shoulders above the current lot of me feiners (can't remember how to do fadas) anyway. RIP.
