Hi I am in touch with the family of a severely disabled young man in Gaza.
He is an Irish citizen and he and his family have been informed bu the department of foreign affairs that they are eligible to come to Ireland.
However they last heard from a representative of the dfa in November.
They have fled Gaza city and are crammed into Rafah alongside a million others.
I just wondered if anyone could advise me as to how to raise the profile of their case?
I have emailed my TD the DFA the tanaiste the president. I have contacted several newspapers.
So far no response. Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks for reading.

Have you also contacted Solidarity/PBP?

Nongatron · 03/02/2024 13:46

@Chickenkeev thank you for replying. Yes I emailed Richard Boyd Barrett. Do you think I should contact others in PBP?

Try Paul Murphy too. I know they have strong feelings on the current situation, whether they can/will do anything for you is another thing, But it's worth a try. Those who shout the loudest etc. Best of luck with it.

I doubt PBP will be able to do anything.

Publicity etc. Better to do something than nothing.

@Chickenkeev Just thought you might be interested to know there’s an article in today’s Irish Times about the family 😊 I really hope it will help them

You wouldn't have a link to that would you? I just had a look there and couldn't see it.

Also RTE Upfront podcast
Both well worth a listen
Just wish this family could leave and the horror would stop.
