Heard Rainy Night In Soho on the radio tonight and suddenly remembered how beautiful it is. I don't think his early death is a surprise to many, but it's still a great loss to the lyrical tradition.

Yes , Rainy Night is his best I think. A Pair of Brown eyes is lovely too. There's a YouTube of him and Christy Moore chatting and then they sing it it. Very touching.

Love the pogues. Shane was a genius.

What a funeral!

R.I.P. Shane. The funeral made me laugh, cry and sing. It was unreal, never seen anything like it in my life and Johnny Depp. What a send off and with Imelda May dancing with Victoria.
Great character, music, poet. So sad we have lost so many talented souls this year.
