Letter from bank - not for me

I've received a letter from one of the main banks. My Surname and correct address, the 1st time is a common 'wrong' name I get. Along the lines of Carol and Carolyn. (Not my real name)

The address is correct but I live in a townland so it's not exactly specific and the eircode wasn't on it.

We have a surname unique enough to this area, there are about 200 people if even in my townland. DH/ MIL/ SIL/ FIL have no idea who this is.

I called the bank they said they will investigate but I haven't heard back. It's annoying me. Also I'm not with that bank.

I did open it as it's so similar to my name. Really strange transactions too, mostly just bank fees, then enters cash and the next day takes half it back out.

Keep following it up.

@TheHawkisHowling I just don't see how. I'm not with that bank, so it's not like they sent me the wrong statement

I'd be very concerned based on the cash going in and straight out. It would sugesythe account is being used for money laundering.

In previous jobs, I've accidentally sent invoices out with random people's addresses on them. Had a few people convinced it was a scam too, even with plentiful reassurance.

Offices and data admin is a lot more messy than you'd give people credit for.

You'd think thinks like this would be 100% automated from a bank so not really possible to have human error. I know people are well capable of making genuine errors. I'll try call them again in the morning.
