Im only on episode 1 but so far it's really made us Irish to look as thick as 2 planks

Does it continue with gardai who don't their arse from their elbow or does it get better? 🙄

Just finished the whole series. I enjoyed it even though much of it is contrived and the plot not really believable. I don't think it made Irish police look particularly bad. The village policeman is a trope of local police officers everywhere and the Dublin guy the same kind of trope of police from the big city coming and lording it around.

I'll give it a bit longer so. I was annoyed from the start - why employ someone who can't do an Irish accent to save their life to play an Irish character 🙄

Because lots of casting directors do not know Irish accents at all. So many shite ones have made it to the screen, they are confused.

I clicked because I was not sure whether to watch and keep getting told to. This thread has not helped 🤣

I think it's made for the non-Irish market and we can't tell the difference.

I watched the series.
I thought Ruth Wilson did a very passable Irish accent.
The story was a bit daft but it did highlight the awful things that have happened here in Ireland in relation to Mother and Baby Homes.

And the continued impact on those women in their later years.

"And the continued impact on those women in their later years."
Sad
And the platitudes from successive Irish governments.
Put your money where your mouth is otherwise it all a crock of sh*t !
