Bowling. In McCurtain Street. Clothes shopping ? Penneys or Dunnes maybe. I don't live in the City itself, hope other posters have more info.

Cork Gaol is great.

Blackrock Castle and Observatory

It's always raining in Cork, nothing new there!
Try Cobh (take the train) for the heritage stuff and Titanic.
English Market in the city is great fir wandering around and the grub is great.
As mentioned the Gaol is also enjoyable.
Shopping along Patrick Street (Pana) and a pint in the Mutton Lane. The Franciscan brewery across the Lee. Blarney with a raincoat. Cork is great, the folk are even greater!

Mahonpoint - cinema, shopping, eating, etc.

The youth theatre music event in the Everyman theatre looks interesting? Lots of food in that area.
It's supposed to stop raining tomorrow afternoon...and not rain quite as much until Friday...

Im hoping it clears by eleven when I have a dental appointment to paddle to. Are you in the city centre? High tide can be interesting.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 18/10/2023 10:02

I'm sorry the weather is letting you down, op. It is exceptionally bad even by our standards! It's flooded where I am.

eggandonion · 18/10/2023 10:14

My dentist appointment is cancelled...staff cant get in from other towns. It is really bad....and so dark.
I can only add my apologies!

Moonblue87 · 18/10/2023 11:27

We’ve taken a drive to Killarney just making the most of our time in Ireland before going home tomorrow , we’re staying in cork city centre
What time is high tide please?

I think in the city the next is due at 8.30pm. Cork is a very watery city between the river and the sea. And the rather biblical rain.

Abhannmor · 18/10/2023 11:55

Go out to Muckross House and have some grub. The lakes are gorgeous even if the mountains are shrouded in mist!

almondfinger · 18/10/2023 12:13

You poor things, what a miserable 2 days to be here. The flooding is crazy and the weather not looking to really improve - dry up till 8pm.

Mahon Point for shopping/ cinema. At least you'll be dry.
Son of a bun on MacCurtain St. Amazing burgers, great vibe. Cant book so you will get in. Any of the pubs along MacCurtain St for a drink while you wait. The Shelbourne is lovely. 17year old will be allowed in. We have v little to do on a wet day. Bowling at the Mardyke. The Titanic museum in Cobh is really good but I don't think you can get to Cobh the roads are so bad.
