I have just spent the past while cleaning up the garden. EVerything everywhere but thankfully not badly hit compared to some I see online.

Yes, electricity's ent at 12.30 last night and still not back. Hopefully it'll be back soon and all will be well - will have to eat everything in freezer otherwise!

We were certainly aware we were in the orange zone going by the very strong wind and lashing rain. We had put away most things before it got really bad.

It is like a winters day here all dark and windy etc. I cannot believe I have the lights on in the sitting roomm at 9o clock in the morning, fluffy pjs on and slippers. It is a real duvet day type day.

Bright and sunny, but with violent gusts, here now. Small landslide in the garden last night, drain blocked so huge, deep puddle outside the back door. My young trees have survived, though, and compared to a lot of other people I got off very lightly — a small river near my SIL’s house broke its banks and she had water a foot deep right up to her front door (which is fortunately up a couple of steps…) Some local railway lines closed because of flooding.

Keep an eye on powercheck.esbnetworks.ie and if your area isn't listed as being without power, contact them to let them know.

Cork appears to have been badly affected by the storm:

Electricity back and am delighted! Freezer saved and have a few loads of washing to do. It's still quite breezy here but dry at least for now - a few ominous looking clouds in the sky but think it's pretty much all done and dusted now
