The wall you touch at Knock

I'm half Irish, going back to the west for the first time in years. When I was a child there was a place on the outside of the wall of the church where you put your hand and prayed. Is it still there? Or do you have to go inside now? I have a vague memory of it being changed but it's so long ago I'm not sure. I swear everything I prayed for as a child touching that wall happened!

That was probably the wall where the apparition was seen. It was enclosed in a new chapel (some time in the 70s I think) so you can still access it, but under a roof - and attend mass beside it.

But you can still buy any amount of plastic that, you’ll be glad to know — little cameras with fuzzy photos of Marian shrines, luminous plastic rosary beads, life-size statues…This was the main point of Knock for us as children, anyway.
