Has anyone in Ireland done aldi click and collect? Am curious as to how it works - we usually get a Tesco delivery.

I haven't but I have looked at it. I haven't done click and collect anywhere, it looks to be the same. Its a good 25min drive to my closest aldi so I still just get tesco delivered

Sorry to butt in, but in England the Aldi near me has two dedicated Click & collect parking bays, upon arrival you send them a text with your name and bay number and a member of staff comes out with your shopping in plastic crates which you unload into your car. Seems to take about 5 mins.

I think its the same here, that's how it works for Dunnes/ Tesco. They have the click and collect spots anyway near the door.

Do Aldi in England charge you for click and collect? Ita €5 here I think

Sorry, I don't know. I was relaying what I've seen in the carpark.

That's great, thank you! Aldi near work has started doing click & collect and will give it a try!

Sorry also in England, they charge a fiver so we only do it if it’s a big weekly/10 day shop but it saves money for us in the long run as we’ve new planned, don’t deviate from “the list”, don’t go down the middle aisle and it’s cheaper overall than if we’d done it at Tesco or Asda.

Yes I have. There are two parking spots and you pull in to one and text whether you are in bay a or b and a young one or young fella will roll out your shopping. They will also help put it into the boot at lightening speed and some of it will be packed in a compostable plastic bag which are super strong. I might have been unlucky but I got annoyed at the amount of times items were unavailable and unlike tesco they rarely gave an alternative

Really good to know, especially about the lack of substitutions! Might give it a try but keep the Tesco subscription for now
