Irish Whisky Help?

Hello all
my husband loves Irish whisky (he was born in Cork although hasn’t lived there since he was 2!) anyway, I have absolutely no idea about it and I would like to get him a nice bottle for our anniversary, around £50-100 price mark. His favourite supermarket brand is Jamesons, but is there something a bit more special anyone could recommend?
thanks!

Midleton whiskey is made in Cork, I've visited the distillery. I've just looked and prices start around 50 quid.

Green Spot and Busmills are both favourites of my husband, along with Jameson's.

Thanks- have you ever tried it? I’m looking on the whisky exchange site, there are so many I don’t know where to begin!

I had an aged Busmills in my basket- good to know thanks!

I am not a whiskey drinker but I think Bushmills is a Scotch type whisky very different to Jameson's

Bushmills is lovely

Nope, it's definitely Irish.

Thank you for your help, I’ve gone with a 12yr old Bushmills 🤞🏻

Bushmills is lovely.
Since your husband is from Cork he might enjoy West Cork Whiskey, or he may hate it as he’s from East Cork.

Thank you for your reply.
I brought the bushmills already, but after speaking to his best pal I’ve learnt he doesn’t like blended whisky (total minefield to me I really must pay him more attention 😂) so I’m relieved the one I got was a single malt.
Get me some Tesco Prosecco and I am chuffed!

That was meant to say IF he was from East Cork. Typing fail.
West Cork and Midleton Whiskey both do a variety of whiskeys, blended and unblended and in different casks. Slainté 🥃

Yea it’s east, near Ballymacoda although he left when he was a toddler, but still 😃
