Bit of a long shot but I am looking for reviews of NCAD in Dublin . Dad has her heart set on going but Dublin prices are double what they would be in Limerick, for example. Just wondering is the experience worth it, and in general the experience of being in Dublin also worth it.
We have an amazing Art and design school an hour away from us in France but she won’t hear tell of it.

We did a tour of art colleges recently for dd. NCAD came out top for both of us, it feels like the most creative hub, very well regarded and lots of good links for Erasmus and work experience. It is very competitive to get in, you need a very good portfolio.

That said it really depends on what area she is interested in. IADT in Dun Laoghaire would come out top for me for graphics/ digital art and film/media. TU is also excellent for graphic design/visual communication.

DD is into more 'getting your hands dirty' kind of art, NCAD definitely wins on that score!

Lucky for us we live in Dublin so don't have to deal with accommodation, I think finding somewhere decent for your dd to live could be a challenge, there is a lot of corporate style student accommodation around D8, but it's shockingly expensive.

Thank you! We have just put our name on the waiting lists for various student residences. Thank you, that’s super helpful.
