Would love an actual Christmas toy show with Christmas poems, songs, dances etc by the entertainers... I remember when I was a child, it was Billy Barry every year & way more Christmas focused in the acts... Billy Barry haven't been on it in years!

@JenniferBarkley Are you saying what I think you're saying and I thought myself m, some years back ?
And it wasn't a book.Smile

So there was no need to "roll it there Colette" 😂

I would be far from an expert but I wouldn't have thought there was a sniff of a chance of that Grin

For those saying there are very few toys on it I'm getting the impression that it's a deliberate move away from showing too much shiny expensive "stuff" and it being more of a family pre Christmas show . They no longer have Smyths as the big main sponsor but mention smaller and independent retailers.

honeyrider · 27/11/2022 18:56

The title of the show should change from the Late Late Toy Show to the Late Late Childrens Variety Show. I enjoyed the show but there was very little in it to reflect Christmas.

ryantubridysthumb · 27/11/2022 20:59

I didn't think it was great. Too much singing and dancing and not enough actual toys. Boring!!!

But it's not up to a TV show to manage children's expectations around Christmas and toys. That's the parents job surely. And if that is the case then simply stop advertising it as a toy show. My kids gave it a 3 out of 10 and a 5 out of 10 mainly because they saw hardly any toys and said Ryan was boring this year.

@ineedanewbum that's just my impression of where the show is going I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm personally not a big fan and don't get the massive fuss over it. Thankfully my own children are the same.
