I know this is most likely absolute nonsense but I am going to give putting the statues out for good weather for my DD wedding next week.
has it actually worked for anyone???

My friend did it and they got amazing weather for the time of year.

She might !!! Smile

Johnnysgirl · 27/07/2022 18:15

My mother put it out the night before my siblings or myself got married hoping for good weather. It worked especially as one sister got married between Christmas and the New Year and the weather had been terrible in the run up to her wedding.

She also put it out whenever any of us went into labour. I can remember old neighbours doing it for occasions in their families too.

A neighbour asked one of my sisters what she'd like for a present and my sister asked for a statue of Prague. Apparently it's better to get it as a gift and the "belief" is put coins under it and the house will always have enough money to get by.

imagakster · 30/07/2022 04:25

oh no!! i acquired (hmmm) one from an ancient relatives house. The other I bought in Spain!!
So I could give the one I bought as a present to the bride to be ??? Would this work? It is tiny though hope the power is still there in a teeny tiny infant!!
Was just looking on ebay for larger ones to match your story of three and THEY DO NOT COME CHEAP!!!!
I need certainty here!!

One is loads and the inherited one is perfect, buying it yourself makes it useless,
My mam put hers out for all the weddings in my family, it rained for the morning of my wedding but the sun came out by the time I was leaving for the church and stayed shining all day. Three of my siblings had winter weddings and the weather was unseasonably warm and dry for all of them.

alongtimeagoandfaraway · 04/08/2022 06:20

My mum did it for me more than 30 years ago and we had the most glorious autumnal day.

I don’t have one but the forecast for my daughters wedding this weekend looks good so🤞

Would somebody please take the child of Prague that they've left out back in? There's too many out now, I can't stand it.

Love it 😂

ItsDangerousInKingsmarkham · 08/08/2022 18:41

My mum did this before each of our weddings and we had 4 weddings with good weather and one wedding with rubbish weather, BUT... the fifth one was after the child had taken a nosedive and had his head broken off and glued back on.

So yeah, pretty much definitive proof. If he's still in one piece, it will work.

Mum made us put it under a bush for some reason? I'm not sure what the significance of the bush is.

Bloody reprobates.

terfenerf · 25/08/2022 10:15

hello everyone just wanted to report back on my highly scientific research involving the IoP and weather control!!
As planned 3 intact statues were placed under bushes around the house. ( was quite a challenge to relocate them afterwards!)
Day started v misty/ drizzly and I must confess I had doubts, but ,just as the bride was ready to leave the weather improved the sun came out .The rain miraculously stopped and the photographer declared the meteorological conditions to be perfect.
So i do not think any more proof is required . Hang on to those strange little statues they are really able to work some magic!!

PeterPomegranate · 25/08/2022 11:56

Was this at the weekend? And where are you?? Because it’s started to properly rain here today (London) for the first time in months.

if you’re in London too then I may become a believer.

TooBigForMyBoots · 25/08/2022 12:46

Science has spoken @terfenerf.Grin I never doubted it.
