On the protocol?
I'll be totally honest I was born at the end of the 80s and definitely not brought up in a political home so I remember nothing about the Good Friday Agreement.
Watched Derry girls and learned from that it was a referendum. 71% voted in favour of the GFA even though the DUP were against it.
It brought peace and works well. So considering (I believe) most of the people of NI are in favour of the protocol even if the DUP are not could we not have a referendum on the matter and put the whole thing to bed?

No. The protocol is a result of an international agreement. It’s not up for a referendum.
the reunification of Ireland will be once the planning is done and everything is in place.
