I'm in NI. Applying for first passports for kids. Both born in Belfast. Does that's count as "born on the island of Ireland". The forms are confusing!!

Of course, since you said it specifies "island of Ireland" which doesn't mean ROI 26 alone. It means the whole island itself - Northern Ireland included since it is on the island of Ireland.

Yes.

Just be aware as it's a first passport and for children it will take months to get it, there are a lot of families waiting over 5 months for their childrens passports.

Yes I fear I may have fucked up on the old passport front... their UK passports have also expired!! And I don't think their system is much better!

Don’t send their old UK passports to Dublin as proof of ID…send certified photocopies instead. I know a chap who sent his off and then when it was delayed he also couldn’t apply to UK for a renewal as he had sent his old one off.
