So Tony Holohan says he's not taking the Trinity job now and will retire in July. What do you think?

The golden circle is alive and well. Robert Watt's strikes again, reminds me of Katherine Zappone.

I was cross when I heard and now he's left it, I feel conflicted because I feel he'd have the insight.
Could there be academic jealousy at play too ?
I wasn't a fan of TH pre pandemic. The Cervical Check controversy was shocking.
He redeemed himself during the pandemic imo.

When you see the Rishi scandal in the UK, all the political scandals here too ( we don't know the half of it I'm sure ) I despair.
Did any politicians in the main political parties go into politics for the good of society or did they all decide to go in so they could gain power and more money ?

What a mess (again). I think he could have been good in the research role. It was handled really badly.

TheVeryThing · 12/04/2022 16:05

I'm sure he would have been good in the role. Not his biggest fan but it seems a poor end to his career in public service.
Handled badly yet again, do we not have proper procedures for this sort of thing?
Robert Watt comes across as very arrogant and I get the sense that Stephen Donnelly is seen as a weak minister so they are not really accountable to him.

LadyEloise1 · 15/04/2022 08:36

Oh my word ! Robert Watt's arrogance Angry
The government allowed him to dictate his very substantial remuneration against the wishes of many commentators so they reap what they sow.
