That fraudster in Cork

Sentence will be passed tomorrow. I hope he gets proper jail time. He stole half a million from the state over 30 years by pretending his parents were still alive. He was also claiming jobseekers. Disgusting.

Horrible crime.
Nothing surprises me now.
Think also of the man brought to the post office for his pension
I won't hold my breath re jail time.
The sentencing in Ireland is pathetic.
The case in Cork - His parents are buried in two separate graveyards which is a bit unusual.

Just seen he got jail. Brilliant.

4.5 years - one suspended so 3.5.
Out in a year or a year and a half. 🙄
Why not deduct a little money from his social welfare each week too ?

It said his father had collected his mother's pension for 7 years after she died. It was a family business.

I think his council house should be taken off him and given to some young person/couple who really need it.

@Loveandlimpets how do you know that the council own it? Did they say that on the news? He could own it. That being said the sentence is absolutely pathetic especially for the massive amount of money he stole . It's absolutely no deterrent at all. He will probably barely do two years.

Tbf if owned its CAB and proceeds of crime.
