Dunnes- first communion range

So this sounds a bit desperate but does anyone know when Dunnes will be bringing out its first communion range (Paul Costelloe occasionwear) this year?

I love some of the dresses from previous years and I’m really hoping they have similarly simple / classic ones this year but nothing is online so far - just ‘coming soon’.

I don’t live in Ireland so can’t pop in and ask and I’m not getting any response from customer services other than “imminently” - but they have been saying this for a couple of weeks now 😬.

My daughter has her heart set on a particularly beautiful dress from a few years ago so if anyone happens to know anywhere which sells old stock or anything (I understand that this is very unlikely!) please do let me know.

Last year it was later than usual as I distinctly remember ordering shoes and underwear and a bag from the communion range while I was sitting in hospital with DS. They had just launched that morning and there was a major fuss about it. This was April I think. The communion range is gorgeous.

Thanks for this. I spoke to them again today and they confirmed that it will be the second week in March - I can’t understand why it is so late!

The stuff is beautiful so I am tempted to hang on but I do want to tick this off the list.

Currently scouring buy and sell sites for the one she loves from a few years ago 😬

If you post a picture of the dress you want there’s a ‘pop up’. Communion shop that opens near me. The clothes are all donated & they ask for a donation to a charity.

Thank you - that’s so kind of you! Unfortunately it’s a dress from about 4 years ago. It was called Madison from the Paul Costelloe range (will try to attach a photo) - I doubt they will have the same range again but you never know!

This range is always lovely and classic so if something comes up, they do deliver to the UK so it will be easy for me to order to be delivered to Scotland.

Thanks so much - that’s really kind. I just posted a pic above. I actually found one online on a buy and sell site but it’s in a size 7 and she would need an 8. Anyway, it has given me a little bit of hope that I might manage to get it.

Haha tell me about it! I was looking at photos the other day and pretended to my wee girl that I still have mine so she can wear it if she likes and she was horrified. Managed to give quite a diplomatic response though - I was impressed 😂

Thanks for trying! I found this site too and thought the same tbh. Will just keep looking. My mum was supposed to be making her dress but she loves this one so will just see how it goes. We wanted a knee length one actually as I don’t love the bridal look but this is simple enough that I think we can overlook the length.

They will be released mid March and are meant to be online only this year for some reason. Word of warning they do run small ,lots of girls in my daughter's class had to return dresses last year as they were just too narrow fitting. Those girls are normal sized kids. Have you tried adverts.ie loads of Paul Costello dresses on there

Just looked on eBay UK think the same dress is for sale new aged 8 the description is as follows-
Paul Costelloe White Floral Detail Communion Dress - Age 8Yrs
Not 100 per cent sure it is the same dress but shape and sleeves are the same & looks very similar

@PastelGiraffe I hope you get sorted. Out of pure nosiness keep us updated . Like others have said the sizes run small. I bought underwear from that range and she barely got her backside into the knickers 🤣🤣🤣. However the communion happening several months later than planned didn't help things

Yes I did! Sorry I don’t know why my replies at people and quotes are failing. It will hopefully soon be winging its way to us!

@minniep thanks for that intel - I will bear that in mind. I’m now mentally adding ‘first communion underwear’ to the list 😂.

Great altogether PastelGiraffe. I hope it works out. They are lovely dresses. My DD wore one three years ago. It suited her.
